Reconnect to Self Through the Wisdom of Horses

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) + Somatics

Horses provide a mirror into our internal world. They respond to us in a way that promotes curiosity. This responsiveness makes them powerful partners in fostering insight, self‑awareness, and new ways of relating.

All sessions are facilitated by a licensed mental health professional. Clients interact with the horses and observe their responses to both the individual and the environment, while the therapist gently guides the process—helping clients stay present and draw meaningful connections to their lives beyond the session. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EFP offers an embodied, experiential approach that deepens awareness of both the self and relational patterns.

Through this work, clients may develop greater trust, clearer communication, increased self‑awareness, and a deeper understanding of their relationships. Sessions can be structured for individuals, families, or specific groups, depending on need. The nature of EFP supports nervous system regulation, self‑compassion, and resilience in the face of daily stressors and past experiences. EFP can be particularly beneficial for individuals navigating complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD, and relational challenges.

    Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL)

Equine Facilitated Learning is a safe, guided experience with horses which supports emotional and relational awareness, nervous system regulation and personal growth. Sessions are non-riding and tailored for individuals and groups.

We take a heart centered herd approach, inviting our horses to participate as our sentient partners and drawing on the natural dynamics of the herd to offer opportunities for insight and reflection. Equine interactions are designed to be accessible and supportive, creating space to slow down, observe and engage with the present moment.

If desired, sessions may incorporate mindfulness, gentle movement and breath practices to deepen awareness and connection with self, others and the natural environment. Through this work, participants often experience improved emotional regulation, reduced stress, increased confidence and strengthened communication and relationship skills.
